Another in the continuing series of cool old diners that have been tragically remodeled over the years. The signpost of the “Gulf” sign is still identifiable to the right of the current structure. The unusual slope of the current structure correspond to the teardrop shape of the Plane Diner. I highly doubt anything at all recognizable is left other than some bones of the original, which would reside at the right three windows of the current picture.

Norm’s Diner- Groton, CT
The interior of Norm’s Diner, Groton CT, has been entirely gutted. It is set to reopen February 1st, so I guess we’ll all wait and see what happens once it starts being put back together.
The Cross Town Diner
The mothership has landed. Certainly one of the more interesting renovations out there.

The East Bay Diner
The East Bay Diner, a 1955 Kullman located a 1291 East Bay Ave, Hunts Point, NYC, burned in 2009. Sometime between then and 2011, this happened. The foundation and kitchen annex are clearly recognizable. I don’t know if the burnt out shell was built out into this tasteless box or if it was simply built on the old foundation.
