The diner is located at 6300 Baltimore National Pike Baltimore, MD 21228, but has been significantly remodeled since the time this picture was taken.
The Open Door Diner, an early homebuilt in Presque Isle, Maine, as it appeared in the late 1930s, and as the building looks now.
The interior of Norm’s Diner, Groton CT, has been entirely gutted. It is set to reopen February 1st, so I guess we’ll all wait and see what happens once it starts being put back together.
The mothership has landed. Certainly one of the more interesting renovations out there.

Property records have this Brooklyn former diner listed as having been built in 1930. I’m working to track down an original name.
The East Bay Diner, a 1955 Kullman located a 1291 East Bay Ave, Hunts Point, NYC, burned in 2009. Sometime between then and 2011, this happened. The foundation and kitchen annex are clearly recognizable. I don’t know if the burnt out shell was built out into this tasteless box or if it was simply built on the old foundation.
Here’s a new find:
’20s Barrel Roof. With decay, the barrel is now visible- looks like there was a small addition to the right at one point, now removed, though that may have been purely facade work.
Queens, NY. Looks like it may be a ’30s diner which recieved a ’50s facelift, then met with the NYC treatment. Queens.
Someone must have thought a topheavy stucco box would look better than the slender transitional spaceage/environmental facade this diner came with. Oddly, it appears the windows were canted in, following a late ’80s post-modern diner trend.

This one conforms to ’30s dimensions, but it looks like sometime between the 1980s and now, the diner itself was torn down and a new building was built with the same footprint. The original addition survives, for what that’s worth. Here’s the distinctly non-diner interior of the present building.
