We visited the former Pushnik’s Diner/ D’Alexander’s during a period between 2003 and 2006 when it was operating as the Horn & Horn diner. It was built in 1960 by the Fodero diner company and replaced an early model Silk City which had previously been on the site. It re-opened on Monday as Marabelle’s Restaurant. Excellent 1960 space age styling. Quilted stainless, bold thin, outwardly canted supports, flared roof edge, recessed spotlights.
The original Patterson Vehicle Company built Silk City diner.
Looks like that was the one I took a photo of a few months ago, for sale now:

Also noticed upon closer inspection of my photo of the Mels Diner sign that you can see where they painted over the N from Lincoln.
Interesting to see these places “then and now”!
I’ve performed here before and the staff was very accommodating. The banquet manager Nicole was excellent at making sure all the proper arrangements were taken care of.
Afterwards, I ordered a meal to go and it was splendid!
Whenever I’m in the area again, I will definitely stop by!
Thanks Marabelle’s!

Definitely will do! Excellent food! I think I’ll get the Fried Ravioli in Red Sauce! Oh man, my mouth is watering now just thinking about it! Mmm mmm good!
This is a question Did the Pushniks have Music in the early Days of opening the restaurant?
