This 1958 Kullman is located at 2908 Route 22, Patterson, NY.

The Four Seasons Diner, Silk City 5804, of East Stroudsburg, PA was redone in 1998 to a “retro” style.

Apparently, under all that lies a 1950s Paramount. It’s located at 1041 S. Broadway, Wind Gap, PA.

The shed roof and awnings really change the look of the place. You have to love the space age canted supports, corner entry and V shaped lower paneling.

Though the lines of the original interior are still apparent, the false beams, the canted counter base, the terrazzo- recent remodeling has changed the materiality, and the entire look and feel of the place.

Faux 1950s (replacing real 1950s) meets faux country meets Grecian urns. Note the delete plates over where the original cantilevered stools were mounted. The cantilevered stools are really much more appropriate in a place where the diagonal line is emphasized over all else. Now it’s just a confused jumble.

How could I pass up going to the diners in the town that bears my name? So many photo ops with signs about town, so little time.

I really like how the Kenwood has put up half-barrel-roof facades on the back kitchen addition. Goes so much nicer with the diner than the shed roof that the kitchen actually has.

We always try to stop at the A-1 when we’re driving through Maine. It’s one of my all time favorite diners. Great food, a fantastic and well preserved Worcester Semi-Streamliner and a really friendly attitude. My dad came to pick me up in Halifax to drive me back to Maryland, and hit it on the way up, so unfortunately, I missed it this year, but enjoy his pictures!
