I came across some pictures of one of these buildings while looking through books at the school library today. Definitely worth a look.

There’s nothing left of the interior of this ’30s Kullman turned upscale restaurant, and the Mansard roof dominates the facade, nevertheless, it’s a very rare diner with a mostly in-tact exterior and neon.

Suburban Skyliner Diner- Cortland, NY
Burlington Diner- Burlington NJ
It’s now known as Amy’s Omelette House, and the great neon on the pylon has been replaced by a plastic sign.
I love the lines of this one. The barrel roof makes me think its an earlier diner that was remodeled- I think in one of my diner books there are pictures of it before it was stainlessed up- I’ll have to find those and scan them. DeRaffele did the updating and/or new construction.
