White Coffee Pot Restaurants – Baltimore, MD
This matchbook is from the Baltimore chain of White Coffee Pot restaurants. They operated in the Baltimore area from 1932 through to 1993. At one time, they had 33 locations. They’re all gone now, but at one time, they were all over Baltimore. They’ve come up a fair bit in my Little Tavern research, but I haven’t done any dedicated research into them directly as to their full history or locations.

The Rosebud Diner – Somerville, MA
We stopped in here for breakfast on Monday morning. My corned beef hash was some of the best I’ve ever had. The Worcester semi streamliner has to be my favorite model of diner, and this one is in great shape. Great food in a great building in a great location. What’s not to love?
I later found out that I missed seeing Larry Cultrera (of Diner Hotline and Classic Diners of Massachusetts fame) by a matter of a few hours that day. Funny how those things happen.
The Glider Diner- Scranton, PA
This was another drive-by photo op. Too full for a real stop. The Glider was built by Mountain View and has their signature “cow catcher” corners.
Chick’s Diner- Scranton, PA
Unfortunately, we didn’t have time or room in our stomachs to eat at Chick’s Diner this time around, so this was just a photo stop. This well preserved Mountain View built diner is located at 1032 Moosic St Scranton, PA.
Happy Dayz Grill – Shoemakersville, PA
I don’t know what this was before, but it’s had the retro-diner treatment. Full mirror finish stainless and neon.
Bob’s Diner – Bainbridge, New York
Bob’s in Bainbridge, NY was a homebuilt dating to 1935, following the design and proportions of factory build models but wider. It’s been remodeled several times and the original barrel roof shape is no longer recognizable.
